Christmas In The Kitchen - The Marigold Sisters

There’s flour on the counter There’s sugar on the floor There’s something

in the oven And somebody wants some more Mama’s got three things

cooking And four things on her mind She’s been working since the

morning But she still says she’s fine There’s laughter in the hallway

There’s music down the stairs Somebody’s stealing cookies Like nobody even cares

Christmas

in the kitchen

That’s where Christmas starts With a little bit of cooking And a

whole lot of heart

Christmas in the kitchen Everybody’s coming through

There’s always room for one more plate And something good for you

Daddy’s carving something early Says he’s only checking it Little brother’s at

the doorway Trying hard not to get caught again Grandma’s got a

story She’s told a thousand times But everybody gathers ‘round her Like

they’re hearing it tonight And the radio is playing An old familiar

song Mama starts to sing along And pretty soon we’re all singing

along

She never sits down long enough To enjoy the things she makes

She’s always giving something Before she ever takes But tonight we’re gonna

catch her We’re gonna make her take a seat ‘Cause Christmas isn’t

Christmas

Till she’s laughing at the table with everybody she loves (Everybody!)

(Come on!)

(Bring it in!)

Christmas in the kitchen That’s where Christmas starts With a little bit

of cooking And a whole lot of heart Christmas in the kitchen

Everybody’s coming through There’s always room for one more plate And something

good for you

There’s flour on the counter!

There’s cookies by the door!

There’s somebody in the pantry!

And somebody wants some more!

Christmas in the kitchen

Let the whole house sing

Christmas in the kitchen That’s the best kind of thing

Pass another plate around Pull another chair up close When the people

that you love are here You’ve already got the most

Where’s Mama? In the kitchen!

What’s she doing? Making Christmas!

What do we need?

One more plate! One more chair?

One more chair! Christmas in the kitchen

Christmas in the kitchen That’s where Christmas

starts… That’s where Christmas

starts…
