It's a choice I make

when I wake up each day.

Every word that I speak,

every step that I take,

in everything that I do,

I am responsible.

That’s how you can have peace.

I've seen too much pain,

I've cried too many tears,

I've lost my own blood,

faced my deepest fears.

But I'm still standing,

I'm still here.

And I'm choosing peace—let me make it clear.

I put down the phone,

This life is a treasure—my race has just begun.

No smoke, no drink,

no drugs in my life,

I'm walking in the sun to get vitamin D.

I walk, I swim,

I sleep well.

I make my bed,

I make my black coffee,

sprinkle turmeric

and cayenne.

I read and follow positive people

and learn something new each day

—to be all I can be.

I lost my grandson too,

our beloved Adam gone too soon.

Let’s turn our grief into saving a life.

let's change the world one person at a time,

Let us stop the blame...
