I didn't get a choice in how my story first began,
Born into a broken house without a safety plan.
The shadows were so heavy
for a little girl of three,
But heaven was up there watching,
looking out for me.
Because right when things were darkest,
and the chaos pulled me down,
The strongest angels I would ever know came walking into town.
God gave me you
to pull me from the fire,
God gave me you
to lift me up much higher!
When the system was a mess
and the world was turning cold,
He gave me Mammal and my Pappal
just to have and hold.
A canopy bed, my Eevee,
and a love that’s strictly true,
I survived the hardest days because
God gave me you.
Now I am twenty-nine years older,
dealing with this place,
Having to put the Panther’s heavy armor on my face.
Gentle Moments tries to tell me things that just aren't right,
But I remember who stood by me
in the hardest fight.
It’s written in my Master File,
a history they can’t touch,
God knew I needed saving,
and He loved me just that much.
God gave me you
to pull me from the fire,
God gave me you
to lift me up much higher!
When the system was a mess
and the world was turning cold,
He gave me Mammal and my Pappal
just to have and hold.
A canopy bed, my Eevee,
and a love that’s strictly true,
I survived the hardest days because God gave me you.
He gave me
an anchor.
He gave me
a home.
He gave me my Mammal.
And I am never alone.
