I wake to the sound of waves,
Blue above and blue below.
No shore anywhere I look,
No place I know.
Salt is burning on my lips,
Something’s floating next to me.
I search my mind for anything— But there’s nothing there to see.
The water pulls me farther out,
The clouds are closing in.
I don’t know how I got here,
I don’t know where I’ve been.
I find a broken piece of wood,
A rope tied in a knot.
Someone built this thing to float— But someone left it here to
rot. A storm begins to rise.
How long have I been here?
How far from land?
I’m stranded in the ocean,
With nothing underneath. Just endless waves around me,
And darkness underneath. I’m stranded in the ocean,
And I don’t know who I am.
But somewhere past the horizon,
I can feel a bigger plan.
The storm tears across the sea,
Lightning cuts the night.
I hold onto the broken raft With everything I have.
Then something hits below.
The ocean goes still.
Too still.
I look beneath the surface,
And a light begins to glow.
Not a star. Not the moon.
Something underneath me. I should swim away,
But something pulls me down.
I remember. I’m stranded in the ocean,
But the water knows my name.
Every wave is pulling memories Back into my brain.
I’m stranded in the ocean,
And I’m starting to understand.
I wasn’t lost out here by accident—
I was sent here by a plan.
Beneath the ocean floor,
I find a door.
Steel beneath the darkness,
Waiting there before.
The same symbol.
The same light. Then a screen flickers on— And I hear a
voice:
“Subject three is awake.”
I’m stranded in the ocean,
But I’m not alone anymore.
The truth is underneath me,
Behind a thousand doors.
I lost the life I used to know— But I can finally
see it clear. We were never stranded.
We were chosen.
And somewhere beyond this
darkness, Two others are still waiting.
The screen goes black.
A door opens.
Somewhere far away— “Subject one is awake.”
