(meow?) The shadows stretch across the kitchen floor
I click my tongue and open up the door
The bowl is waiting on the yellow tile
But nothing's moving for a country mile
I shake the box of crunchy little treats (shake-shake)
But empty are the windows and the streets
Oh, the cat
is nowhere to be seen
At suppertime, if you know what I mean
A feline ghost, a disappearing act
He left his dish
completely untouched, in fact
(where did you go?)
I check beneath the dusty velvet chair
And through the garden bushes,
he's not there
A tiny bell rings out from far away
He makes the rules,
and I just have to play
Just a bowl of fishy food getting cold
Same old story,
never gets old (ahhhh)
Oh, the cat
is nowhere to be seen
At suppertime, if you know what I mean
A feline ghost, a disappearing act
He left his dish
completely untouched, in fact (meow!)
A silent house... (purrrr)
