Four women die daily in the U.S.,
no more waking from sleep,
Killed by current or former partners—a love that cuts too deep.
What do I say about this?
Do I just sit back and wait?
One hundred and forty women and girls—that is a global,
daily fate. Killed by a family member,
someone they trusted, someone they knew,
Every ten to eleven minutes,
a life erased out of the blue.
Can I take responsibility and look inside?
To prevent this many deaths,
I gotta swallow my pride.
So I'm drawing a line in the sand right now...
this is my
vow.
I take the pledge,

I pledge to respect my body,
I pledge to protect Mother Earth...
