I wake where the sunlight forgets how to reach
Cold blue pressure got a lock on the deep No footprints behind
me, no fire in the sand Just a thousand miles of water
and a heart in my hands They tell stories of dragons that
circle the sky
But nobody asks what it costs when we hide I got scales
like armor, still the loneliness cuts And the whole ocean listens,
but it never speaks up
I’m a dragon below the surface,
breathing all alone
Got a kingdom made of darkness,
but it never feels like home
I could rise above the waves,
but who would call my name?
So I sink a little deeper when the silence does the same
I remember the clouds like a dream I was told Remember warm
mountain air, remember feeling bold Now the currents pull my shadow
through a cathedral of blue Every ship up above is a world
I can’t get to
I carved your name in coral,
watched it fade in the tide Kept a pearl by my pillow
just to feel something bright If a monster can miss you,
if a beast can still pray Then maybe there’s a piece of
me the sea can’t wash away
I’m a dragon below the surface,
breathing all alone
Got a kingdom made of darkness,
but it never feels like home
I could rise above the waves,
but who would call my name?
So I sink a little deeper when the silence does the same
And if you hear that thunder underneath the foam
That’s not the storm,
that’s me asking to come home
I don’t need a crown,
I don’t need to be
brave
Just one living voice to find me in these waves
I’m a dragon below the surface,
fading with the blue
I guarded all this empty world,
wishing it had you
When the moon pulls back the water,
I’ll still whisper your name
Then sink a little deeper when the silence does the same
