His Goodness (Psalm 27)

(ahhhh) Bright light in the dark,

Salvation is in His Hands,

No one left to fear.

Wicked march ahead,

Hungry to consume my soul,

They trip and they fall.

When the troubles come,

He will hide me

in His tent,

High upon the rock.

Head raised high above,

Shouts of joy inside His courts,

Songs of praise to Him.

Hear my crying voice,

Show me mercy in my need,

Answer when I call.

Armies close around, War may rise on every side,

My heart stays at peace.

Only thing I ask:

To live in His house always,

And gaze on His grace.

Teach me what is true,

Lead me in a level path,

Clear of every foe.

Sure of this one thing:

I will see His Goodness shine

In the living lands.

Wait upon the Lord,

Take a deep and steady breath,

Wait upon the Lord.

Though my parents leave,

And abandon me to cold,

The Lord

takes me

in.

Do not hand me over,

To the malice of my foes,
