We come to church,
but our hearts are far away,
We lift our hands,
but hide the pain we face.
We say “Hallelujah,” but we’re crying inside,
We
talk about faith, but sometimes we lose sight.
We look at others and compare our lives,
Forgetting You have a different plan for mine.
We want the blessing,
but not the process,
We want the miracle,
but we run from the test.
Lord, look deep inside our hearts,
Take away everything that keeps us apart.
Even when our faith is weak,
Don’t let us turn away from You.
Lord, bring us back to You,
When our hearts are far from Your truth.
When the world keeps calling our name,
Give us the strength to choose Your way.
Lord, lift us up again,
When we fall, when we lose our strength.
We don’t want to seek You only for what You give,
We want to know Your heart,
We want to know
You, Lord.
(ooh, Lord)
We pray when everything goes wrong,
But when life gets better,
we forget Your love.
We keep saying, “Lord,
give me more,”
But forget to say,
“Lord, change my heart.” We want to be seen,
we want to be raised,
But have we learned to serve when no one sees?
We talk about power,
we talk about authority,
But where is the love?
Where is humility?
Lord, look deep inside our hearts,
Our wounds, our fears,
our weaknesses.
Teach us to remain faithful,
Even when nobody sees.
I don’t want a faith that only lives on Sunday,
I want to follow You when no one is watching.
I don’t want to only speak the name of Jesus,
I want my life to speak of Jesus.
Even in the waiting,
I will remain faithful,
Even in the storm,
I will hold on to You.
Even when I don’t understand what You’re doing,
I will still trust Your voice.
(trust Your voice!)
Lord, bring us back to You,
Restore our hearts, restore our faith.
Let our lives become a testimony,
Let Your light shine through us.
Lord, keep us close to You,
Until the end, we will walk with You.
Not only for the blessings You can give,
But because without You,
We don’t want anything.
Bring us back…
Bring us back to Your heart…
When we fall, Lord,
lift us up.
When we wander, call us home.
Lord, we’re coming back to You.
