Air Heavy
Short breaths.
Coughing.
Slow days.
Engines choke the air we breathe
Tailpipes spit out smoke you can’t see
Tiny bits: metal dust,
acid rain
Pollutants that don’t play fair
Not just clouds in the sky,
but inside your chest Where lungs grow tight,
where hearts get stressed
Air heavy!
Air heavy!
From engines loud, it lingers deep
Tiny sparks from every block
They grind your lungs,
they strain your sleep
Asthma flare?
Heart strain slow?
Shorter breaths, weaker days below?
This isn’t just a distant cloud It’s in your blood,
it’s in your crowd!
PM two-point-five, fine specks like ash
Slip past your nose,
settle in the pass
Triggers wheeze,
worsens every strain Makes asthma worse,
slows recovery gain
NOx and ozone twist the air Turn simple steps into labor there
Kids with lungs still learning to fly
Adults feel it too: chest tight
Now in your blood,
how you work and rest
We don’t need blame,
we need roots
Clean air starts where engines could be cut
Shift to bikes, walk,
or trains that run quiet Support cleaner power,
make the streets feel right Your breath
is your rhythm,
your strength,
your song
Air heavy!
Feel it now?
Your body says: this is too much!
Tiny sparks from every block
They grind your lungs,
they strain your sleep
Asthma flare?
Heart strain slow?
Shorter breaths, weaker days below?
This isn’t just a distant cloud It’s in your blood,
it’s in your crowd Air heavy!
Don't let the smoke win Protect the beat where you belong!
Engines quiet.
Air lifts. One breath easier.
One step further.
Your health
is the beat that never quits.
