(yeah, here we go)
There once was a man named Jesus,
yeah
He gathered a really large crowd
He told a story about a parable And boy,
he was proud!
It’s about this guy who was a shepherd
Who had a hundred sheep
But one day he only counted ninety-nine Then he started to weep
Where could that little sheep have gone?
It must be somewhere near!
He searched across the hills and valleys Looking all around
But it couldn’t be
found!
God loves you,
God loves me
His love is bigger than the eye can see!
(oh yes it is!) When we get lost,
we’re not alone God will guide us safely home!
And when he found his little sheep He lifted it with care
He carried it back home again With joy beyond compare!
He called his friends and neighbours "Come and celebrate with me!
The sheep I lost is found at last— Come share my happiness!" (hallelujah!)
Love your neighbour as yourself
Don’t leave kindness on a shelf!
Love God with your heart and mind
Show respect to all mankind!
Rich or poor, lost or found God’s amazing love surrounds!
Even those we disagree with Deserve love and kindness too!
(yes they do!)
God’s love reaches everyone
Across the sea and land!
The shepherd didn’t give up
No matter what the cost
He went out to find his little sheep The one that had
been lost!
(found at last!)
So remember this story wherever you may go
God’s love is greater than we’ll ever know!
One lost sheep,
a hundred in all
God loves each one—the great and the small! (amen!)
