Ashes to Action 2
It
starts with a spark.
It ends with a grave.
Look at the sky.
Can you still breathe? (shhh) I
see the smoke rising like a black flag in the night We’re
setting the forest on fire just to feel alive It’s not just
the trees, it’s the air in your lungs
We’re counting the seconds while the whole world goes wrong You think
it’s just trash? You think it’s just waste?
It’s the foundation of life that we’re erasing at a pace
Too fast to rewind,
too hot to ignore We’re kicking the door in,
but we’re kicking it wrong!
Stop! (Stop!) Before the sky turns to gray.
Stop! (Stop!) Before there’s nothing left to save.
We have the power,
we have the time But only if we change the rhyme!
STOP BURNING STUFF! STOP BURNING STUFF!
We’re choking on the fumes of our own greed Planting seeds of
life, not planting seeds of weed!
STOP BURNING STUFF! STOP BURNING STUFF!
The earth is screaming,
can’t you hear the sound?
Turn the fire down!
Turn the fire down!
So how do we save it?
How do we fix the crack?
It’s not about luck,
it’s not about luck at all,
jack
It’s in the switch you flip,
it’s in the car you drive It’s in the solar panel on
the roof that you buy Recycle the plastic,
compost the food
Stop flooding the rivers with the poison we’ve produced
Use your voice, use your vote,
use your hands
Build green energy across the lands!
Wind turbines spinning, solar panels gleaming Wake up from the nightmare,
stop the machine dreaming!
Reduce.
Reuse. Recycle. Revive.
Every plastic bottle.
Every gallon of oil.
Every ton of carbon.
Every mile of soil.
We are the healers.
We are the change.
Turn the page.
Turn the page.
STOP BURNING STUFF! STOP BURNING STUFF!
We’re choking on the fumes of our own greed
Planting seeds of life,
not planting seeds of weed!
STOP BURNING STUFF!
STOP BURNING STUFF! The earth is screaming,
can’t you hear the sound?
Turn the fire down!
Breathe.
(shhh) It’s not too late.
