I'm
looking for the pieces.
Every block. Every part.
I don't
know what it looks
like
finished. I
just know I'm not whole.
I found a block in my childhood,
underneath the floor It was trust — I picked it up and
it didn't fit no more I found a block in my first
love, cracked along the edge It was honesty — I tried to
place it, couldn't make it stretch I found a block in the
mirror, staring back at me It was self-worth — covered in dust,
hard to see
Every piece I pick up is a little more broke And I'm
trying to build a picture from a house that's been smoke
I don't know the shape of it,
I don't know the frame I just know I'm missing pieces and
I don't know who to blame Every block I find is heavier
than the one before And I'm running out of room to keep
searching anymore
Puzzle, puzzle Every piece I find is another piece I lost Puzzle,
puzzle
I'm building something back from everything it cost Puzzle,
puzzle
I don't know what it looks like when it's done Puzzle,
puzzle
I just know I'm not whole and I'm trying to be one
I found a block in the bottle,
I found one in the smoke I found one in the silence
every time I almost spoke I found one in the anger,
I found one in the shame I found one in the mirror
every time I said your name And every time I think I
got it, another one breaks And every time I place it,
it don't fit in the space I'm running out of patience,
running out of glue Trying to build a better me out of
what I never knew
I don't know the shape of it,
I don't know the frame I just know I'm missing pieces and
I don't know who to blame Every block I find is heavier
than the one before And I'm running out of room to keep
searching anymore

I don't know what it looks like when it's done Puzzle,

I don't need it perfect.
I just need it whole.
One piece at a time.
One block at a time.
