(hufff) Donald got the paper one day,
Lord have mercy, what did he see?
He needed a car,
but there wasn't one there,
So he started walking down the street.
Lord have mercy, Donald had to walk,
Lord have mercy, he had to go,
Mile after mile with the sun beating down,
Poor Donald just kept on going down the road.
Oh, good Lordy, Donald had to walk a long way,
Lord have mercy,
he walked all day,
Looking for that car he needed so bad,
Poor Donald walked till his feet went mad.
He walked through the morning,
He walked through the noon,
He kept on walking
underneath that hot sun.
His shoes were getting ragged,
His feet were getting sore,
But Donald kept walking,
Couldn't take no more.
Well, his feet were sore,
And his shoes were raw,
Burnt up on both sides,
Lord, what a sight I saw!
He said, "Lord have mercy,
When will this journey end?"
Just keep putting one foot down,
Then do it all again.
Oh,
good Lordy, Donald had to walk a long way,
Lord have mercy, he walked all day,
Finally got to his car,
But he could barely stand,
Shoes burnt up, feet hurting bad,
Lord have mercy on that poor man!
Donald walked a long way… Yes,
he
walked a long way… Lord have mercy… Poor Donald walked a long
way.
