The Liability
I was resting safely, quiet in my bed,
Trying to find some peace of mind inside my heavy head.
Then I heard the voices
echoing the hall,
Sierra on the telephone,
I could hear it all.
She said, "Mom, I can’t believe you did that to her,"
A secret conversation causing such a stir.
I kept my Panther ears awake,
listening to the tone,
Knowing I should document the things said on that phone.
Open up the Master File,
underline it twice!
Sierra broke the boundaries,
she’s walking on thin ice.
You brought the very person in who put her hands on me,
A massive safety failure for the state to clearly see!
The Panther’s always watching,
my vision's crystal clear,
Sierra is a liability,
and I am writing it right here!
You cannot invite your mother through the heavy doors,
Not when she’s the one who brought the danger to these floors!
She is the one who slapped me,
the one who crossed the line,
And you let her in the building while the stars began to
shine.
I woke up to the boundary crossed,
the protocol ignored, This is exactly why the Panther keeps the safety
record stored.
You brought my abuser inside while I was fast asleep,
This is a heavy broken promise that the facility couldn't keep.
Open up the Master File,
underline it twice!
Sierra broke the boundaries,
she’s walking on thin ice.
You brought the very person in who put her hands on me,
A massive safety failure for the state to clearly see!
The Panther’s always watching,
my vision's crystal clear,
Sierra is a liability,
and I am writing it right here!
(writing it right here)
I’ve got the armor on my shoulders,
taking all the notes,
I am gathering the evidence,
I am capturing the quotes.
When the state investigators come to check the place,
I’ll show them how Sierra brought the danger to my face.
You can't sneak around the Panther,
I see through the disguise,
I’m protecting my foundation right before their very eyes.
Her mother crossed the line.
Sierra let her in.
The Panther was asleep,
but the Panther always knows.
Write it in the file.
Case closed.
