You cut the hair,

you paint the nails,

you put makeup that give them a perfect head shot for their

resume … all the while you hold their silent tears that turns

to smile.

You remind a wounded woman that she's worthy of care

To the shelter ladies,

all of the volunteers the last 20 years with BFF,

and the ones who still stay

Thank you for showing up every Sunday.
