Back-and-Forth Breeze
Carter in the room,
got the whole place warm Reading every little signal like a weather
storm He laughs, I lean in,
let the silence bloom Everybody knows the feeling when he walks in
the room Case on the phone,
saying, “Tell me what you see” I said,
“I see somebody looking right back at me”
Different kind of distance,
same electric tune One is in the room and one is on
the phone
No need to hide it,
no need to play it cool The heart makes its own rules
Carter likes men, Case likes men too
Nothing complicated when the feeling is true
One close by, one coming through
Two different stories, same point of view
Carter likes men, Case likes men too
Say it with a smile,
let the whole room move No disguise,
no overdue
Love is love, and they know what to do
Carter says, “I like the way you say my name” I say,
“I like the way you never make it strange” Bass in the
floor, little spark in the air
He got a look that says he knows I’m there
Case on the line,
got a laugh like a flare Even through the speaker,
I can feel him there He says,
“You still up?” I say,
“You already know”
Some connections travel anywhere they go
Room or a call,
near or far
You don’t have to wonder who you are Turn it up,
let the truth come through Carter and Case got a thing to
do
Carter likes men, Case likes men too Nothing complicated when the feeling
is true
One close by, one coming through
Two different stories, same point of view
Carter likes men, Case likes men too Say it with a smile,
let the whole room move No disguise,
no overdue
Love is love, and they know what to do
