Static Interference

(humm... humm...)

Every mile marker's reading wrong tonight

like reality itself can't keep the signal tight

I don't know if it's her or something bigger coming through

but the road's not behaving the way a normal road should do

—should do, should do,

that's the problem with legends,

they assume

the rules still apply to something built to outgrow the room

I'm not causing this static,

I think it's causing me

like whatever's underneath this road is finally waking up to see

Static interference, static interference something's underneath the road and it's finally here

static interference, static interference neither one of us built for whatever this

really is

I've outrun a hundred rivals,

never outrun a question this big

what if the race was never really about her and me

what if we're both just symptoms of something trying to get free

Static interference, static interference

something's underneath the

road and it's finally here static interference,

static interference
