Backroad Smile

I met this girl,

wasn't looking for love,

Now I'm thanking the stars and the Lord above.

She's got a smile that'll mess up your day,

In the best kind of way,

got me feeling some way.

She's funny as hell,

always making me laugh,

Got that country girl charm that you just can't pass.

And I don't know how,

but I can't deny,

She's been running through my head every night.

She's a pretty little country girl,

With a four-wheeler kicking up dust in her world.

Mud on her boots,

got a laugh like gold,

The kind of girl that makes a heart unfold.

She don't need diamonds,

don't need fancy things,

Just a backroad ride and a little sunshine.

I just met her,

but I can't lie,

She's the kind of girl

I wanna get to know

for a lifetime.

I can picture us riding down a dirt road,

Windows down, nowhere we gotta go.

Her laughing at me,

probably talking some trash,

Me wishing every minute would just last.

Maybe I'm crazy for thinking this far,

When I'm still learning who you really are.

But there's something different,

something I can't explain,

And I'd sure like to see where this thing goes someday.

I ain't gonna promise what I can't guarantee,

But I'd sure like to find out what you could be to

me.

One tank of gas,

one sunset sky, A little more time with you by my side.

And if this turns into something real,

You'll know exactly how you make me feel.

She's a pretty little country girl,

The kind that makes a difference in a big old world.

Four-wheel drive and a wild little smile,

Got me hoping I can stay around a while.

I just met her,

but there's something there,

Something about her that feels so rare.

Maybe it's nothing,

maybe it's the start,

Of a backroad love that'll steal my heart.

Yeah, she's funny,

she's pretty,

she's country through and through,

And I sure wouldn't mind

getting closer to you.

(closer to you)
