Gentle Paws Lesson
See the puppy wagging by the garden gate
With a happy bark,
he just can't wait
You can run right up and give a great big squeeze He's
a family pet who loves to play and please (mmm-hmm)
But look across the street,
a helper on the way
With a special jacket,
keeping busy all the day
He's a working service dog,
guiding with his eyes So we give him quiet space,
helpful and wise
Some dogs are for hugging,
playing in the yard
And some dogs are working,
safety is their guard
When the vest is on,
we let them do their task
We can wave hello,
but we always stop and ask (yes we do) If you want
to pet
a doggy on the street
Always ask their person before you try to meet
But if they're on a job,
guiding left and right
Just smile and walk on by,
and keep them in your sight
