Everybody’s carrying something
You just don’t always see it
Some wounds make noise Some learn how to breathe quietly
Some people smile with a war in their chest
Say “I’m alright” when they’re barely at rest Everybody’s got a story
they rarely explain Different faces,
different names, same human pain
Some lost love,
some lost trust Some built a wall because breaking was enough Some
work all day just to silence the night Some hold everybody else
while they’re losing the fight
We all bleed in places
Nobody can see
We all need somebody
To say, “You can breathe”
Human pain, we all know the sound
Even when we hide it,
it still comes around
Different roads, but the tears fall the same
Different scars, but we carry human pain
Human pain, nobody walks untouched
Some need a hand,
some don’t ask for much If you’ve got a heart,
you’ve got something to lose So be gentle with the people you
meet and the people you knew
There’s a father who regrets what he never said A mother lying
awake with a thousand thoughts in her head
A kid learning early not to ask for too much An old
man missing someone he can’t bring back with a touch There’s a
friend who disappeared, not because they don’t care Maybe life got heavy
and they couldn’t stay there There’s a stranger on the train staring
down at the floor
Carrying a heartbreak they’ve never told before
You don’t know
What somebody survived
You don’t know
What they hide behind their eyes
Pain doesn’t always look like tears Sometimes it looks like anger after
years Sometimes it looks like working until you collapse Sometimes it’s laughing
loud so nobody asks Sometimes people hurt people because they’re hurt Not
an excuse, just a wound beneath the dirt And healing ain’t pretty,
it ain’t always fast Some days you move forward,
some days face the past
Maybe strength is not pretending
Maybe courage is admitting
“I don’t have the answer
But I’m still here”
Maybe love is simply staying
When the words have lost their meaning
Sitting in the silence
Until the fear
disappears
Human pain, we all know the sound Even when we hide it,
it still comes around Different roads,
but the tears fall the same
Different scars, but we carry human pain Human pain,
nobody walks untouched Some need a hand,
some don’t ask for much If you’ve got a heart,
you’ve got something to lose
So be gentle with the people you meet and the people you
knew
Everybody’s carrying something
Some things never get said
So if somebody’s struggling
Don’t be so quick
to judge their steps
