August 17th,

2007.

January 15th, 2008.

151 days.

That's all the time he had.

This is for Baby Adam.

She just had a baby,

holding him tight,

Ten little fingers,

everything's right.

They took him away,

said it was for the best,

But a baby needs his mother's chest.

She pumped her milk,

she begged, she cried,

She said, "Please don't take my baby,

I'm his life."

151 days, that's all he had,

And now I'm singing for him,

and I'm singing sad.

But I'm not gonna cry,

I'm gonna stand up tall,

I'm gonna make a change for the babies and all.

Don't take a baby from a mother who's trying,

Don't leave a grandmother alone and crying.

151 days, but your life means everything!

151 days, and I will make the whole world sing!

Don't separate us,

don't break the bond!

Give us a place where we both belong!

A mother and baby,

together as one!

That's how the healing has to be done!

151 days! 151 days!

I'm gonna make a change,

I'm gonna find a way!

I was on the kitchen floor when I got the call,

I couldn't even breathe,

I couldn't even crawl.

But I got back up,

and I'm standing here today,

Singing for the babies who were taken away.

We need a safe place,

a place to run,

A place for a mother and her little one.

151 days, and I won't be quiet,

I'm gonna turn this pain into a blessing for other babies.

I wrapped him.

I watched him try to crawl as I took his photo.

I didn't know that would be our last time together.

151 days.

That's all the time he had.

But I'm gonna make his 151 days mean something.

For every baby. For every mother.

For every grandmother.

I'm gonna make it mean everything.

151 days.
