I found a grey hair yesterday
Named her Susan, let her stay
Bought a planner, lost it twice
Guess I’m not the organized type
My friends are talking interest rates I’m looking up concert dates
I pay my taxes,
mow the lawn
Then put my favorite old boots on
They say there’s an age for everything Well,
who decided that?
I got a whole lot of living left And I’m not done
with that! I’m not done being young!
Not done making memories
Not done singing every word To songs from seventeen
Got a few more lines around my eyes And a whole lot
more to come
I’m getting older,
getting better
But I’m not done being young!
OH-OH!
NOT DONE! NO, I’M NOT DONE BEING YOUNG!
I don’t miss the way I used to cry
Over boys who couldn’t spell goodbye
I don’t miss being flat-out broke Or thinking every fight was the
end of hope
But I still love a midnight drive
Still get nervous before I go live
Still call my mom when something’s wrong Still turn the music up
too strong
I wouldn’t trade the things I’ve learned For another chance at twenty-one
But somebody tell the DJ I’m nowhere near done!
I don’t need my old mistakes To prove I’ve still got life
in me
I like the woman I’ve become
And who she’s gonna be
I’M NOT DONE BEING YOUNG!
Not done making memories Not done finding brand-new reasons
To love being me
Got a few more lines around my eyes And a whole lot
more to come
I’m getting older, getting better
BUT I’M NOT DONE BEING YOUNG!
OH-OH! NOT DONE!
NO, I’M NOT DONE BEING YOUNG!
And Susan’s coming with me! (hahaha)
