Altar Steps

Sunlight softly falling on the stones

Walking arm in arm with those who made me whole

Mother whispers gently take your time

Father smiles and keeps his hand in mine

(breathe in)

Every step brings me closer to your eyes

Where the future waits beneath sacred skies

All our friends and family stand in grace As I walk to

meet you

in this place

Down the aisle the smiling faces blur

Every promise moving through the air

There you stand with tears upon your cheek

Speaking words before our lips can speak (ahhhh)

Hand to hand forever starts right here

Joy washing over every single fear

Now before the altar we

unite

In this golden morning full of light

(forever now)

Here with you

At the altar now

(soft sigh)
