Dear you,
I hope you’re doing well
It’s been a long time
I know
But Christmas came around again
And there was something I should tell you
I found an old box in the closet With a ribbon tied
around
There were photographs and letters And memories
I thought I’d put away Then I found that little Christmas card
You gave me years ago
The one with snowflakes on the front
And words I still remember
So I’m writing you
a Christmas card Just to say I hope you’re fine
I’m writing you
a Christmas card After all
this time
I don’t know where you are tonight
Or what your Christmas looks like now
But somewhere in this December I thought about you somehow
Do you
remember Christmas Eve When we stayed up way too late?
We listened to the radio
And laughed about our terrible singing
You said we’d always be like this
You said we’d never change
Funny how the years can pass And everything can rearrange Maybe some
things aren’t meant to stay
Maybe some roads just turn away But that doesn’t mean the memories
disappear
And every year when December comes I hear that old familiar song
And for a little while It feels like you are here Here…
Right here… For a little while…
So I’m writing you
a Christmas card Just to say I hope you’re fine
I’m writing you a Christmas card After all this time
I hope somebody’s there tonight To leave a light on just for
you
I hope your Christmas is a good one
And I hope life has been kind to
you
I don’t know if I’ll ever send it…
But I wrote it down.
Merry Christmas, wherever you
are…
