Kindness in Stillness

(hummmmm) The kettle is cooling down on the stove

Your handwritten note is still on the shelf

You left the back porch light shining bright

So I didn't have to walk in the dark tonight

And it's a small thing

Just a simple, quiet design

But it changed the whole shape of my

day

Yeah, you changed the whole shape of my

day

Standing in the kitchen just past midnight

The floorboards are cold but my chest is light

You saved me

a cup,

you swept up the floor

I don't feel so tired anymore

And it's a small thing

Just a simple, quiet design

But it changed the whole shape of my day

Yeah, you changed the whole shape of my day

(oooh) Just a small thing.
