She used to count the sidewalk cracks,
With a
little backpack on her back,
Collecting flowers along the street,
Finding joy in the smallest things.
She had a head full of make-believe,
And a thousand things she believed she'd be,
She never knew how fast time flies,
Or how a little girl grows up inside.
And like the flowers after rain,
She'd learn to bloom through joy and pain,
Though she couldn't see what lay ahead,
She'd find her way with each new step.
She's growing through the seasons,
Learning all the different reasons
Why some things stay and some things go,
Why some dreams change as children grow.
She's more than who she was before,
She's opening another door,
And even when the winds blow cold,
She's finding strength in letting go.
Through every change and every feeling,
She's still discovering her meaning,
With every year and every reason,
She's growing through the seasons.
Then came the days of longer light,
Late-night talks and firefly nights,
New favourite songs inside her head,
And thoughts she kept beneath her bed.
Some friendships changed along the way,
Some people left, some chose to stay,
She learned that not all things were meant
To last forever just because they began.
She started finding her own voice,
Learning that growing up means making choices,
And though she missed the days gone by,
She felt new dreams begin to rise.
The leaves came falling to the ground,
And she found change was all around,
Old little habits slipped away,
And she saw herself in a different way.
The things she loved at seven years old
Became sweet stories she would someday tell,
And some of the dreams she'd held so tight
Made room for new ones to come to life.
She kept the memories,
let time move on,
Learned that changing didn't mean she'd gone,
The girl she was still lived inside,
In every little piece she kept alive.
And when the world turned grey and still,
She learned that growing takes its will,
That even trees without their leaves Are preparing for what no one
sees.
She didn't need to bloom each day,
Or have the perfect words to say,
Sometimes the bravest thing she'd do
Was give herself time to make it through.
She's growing through the seasons,
And she's finding her own reasons
To love the girl she's always been,
While welcoming the girl within.
She's not afraid of changing skies,
Or saying old goodbyes,
For every ending has a start,
And every season shapes her heart.
She'll have her springs and summers,
Her autumns and her winters,
Some days she'll dance,
some days she'll cry,
Some days she'll simply watch life passing by.
But she'll keep going,
come what may, And find new pieces of herself along the way,
For she's a story still unfolding,
A thousand dreams her heart is holding.
One day she'll look back and see
How every season helped her be
The girl she never knew she'd become,
With so many chapters still to come.
The years will change,
the world will turn,
There'll always be more things to learn,
And through it all,
she'll have one reason… She's still growing.
She's growing through the seasons.
