(yack-yack!
hey!)
It started one fine day,
in the middle of the night,
A novice thought he'd make himself a little light.
He started on his spell,
and before he knew,
The light had filled the room clean through!
The priests all shut their eyes and shouted out,
"Oh, goodness me, we cannot see!
Who do we blame for our misery?" (hey!) (hahaha!)
There in the corner the novice stood,
Silent as silent can be,
Listening and watching as they stumbled about,
Blinded till the next full moon came out.
Their crashing and their falling made such a sound That people heard
it for miles around.
And that, my friends,
was a sight to see: The night the priests
saw the light! (hooray!)
