Friday night, I’m heading home,
But my mind won’t leave me alone.
Miles behind me, miles ahead,
Too many things inside my head.
Streetlights dancing on the glass,
I keep wishing this would pass.
I’ve been strong for far too long,
Smiling like there’s nothing wrong.
Then the road begins to blur,
And I hear my thoughts occur.
I’ve been holding on so tight,
I can barely see tonight.
I can’t drive this alone,
I’ve been lost for far too long.
Every road feels like a maze,
Every turn, another change.
I’m so tired of being strong,
Of pretending I belong.
If I don’t know where to go,
I can’t drive this road alone.
There’s a weight I never show,
All the things nobody knows.
Every worry, every scar,
I’ve been carrying them too far.
I keep telling myself I’m fine,
That I’ll figure it out in time.
But tonight, I can’t pretend,
I need a hand around the bend.
Maybe I don’t need to know
Everywhere this road will go.
Maybe I can take a breath,
Lay this heavy heart to rest.
I don’t have to see it through Like there’s nothing left to
lose. I can pause,
I can let go,
I don’t have to do it all alone.
Streetlights fading, morning glow,
One more mile, one more road.
I don’t know where I’ll belong,
But I don’t have to go alone.
