(hey!) (ho!) Old Murphy was an Irish hound with paws as wide as plates
He boarded on a wooden ship to challenge winds and fates (woof!)
He sniffed the salt upon the breeze and wagged his heavy tail
To seek the lost and golden bones beyond the misty sail
So pull the halyard,
lift the hound, we're bound for secret shores With Murphy at the
rugged bow, we'll row with heavy oars (hey!) He'll dig the sand
and find the chest beneath the ancient tree
The bravest dog that ever sailed the rolling emerald sea (ho!)
They hit the reef of jagged stone beneath the island's crown
But Murphy swam the chilly surf and refused to let us drown
He pulled the captain by his coat onto the sandy beach
With golden shore and hidden map now well within our reach (hey!) (hey!) (hey!)
So
pull the halyard, lift the hound,
we're bound for secret shores With Murphy at the rugged bow,
we'll row with heavy oars (hey!) He'll dig the sand and find
the chest beneath the ancient tree
The bravest dog that ever sailed the rolling emerald sea (ho!)
And now he sleeps on golden mounds,
the king of pirate lore (hahaha) With a tankard full of water
on the quiet island shore
To the bravest pup of all! (hey!)
