I caught myself just yesterday
Humming to a song
And for a moment,
I forgot
How lost I had become
The world is looking brighter The weight’s a little less And somewhere
in the quiet I know I’ll find me again
It’s not that all the hurt has gone
Or that finally I feel free
But the happiness I thought I’d lost Is finding its way back
to me
I’m feeling a little more like myself
A little less depressed
There’s a flicker where darkness lived
Room now for happiness
Although I’m not the person
Who I was before
I’m finding pieces of myself
I thought I’d lost for sure
I’m learning not to question
Every smile that comes along
Im trying to let myself feel happy
Without wondering what is wrong
Although some days pull me under
And nights still steal my sleep
I’m slowly finding my way back
To the me
that’s buried deep
Maybe healing is a slow return To the person underneath
And maybe it’s the little things Which will bring me back to
me
It’s not a sudden transformation
Not a moment I will see
Just a quiet, gradual feeling
Of returning back to me (returning back to me) I’m feeling more
like me
And that feels like enough
I’m learning I can still be here
Even when the road is rough
I don’t need to find the old me
Or know who I will be
I’m just grateful for these moments
When I feel much more like me (much more like me)
(more like me)
