Sticky Steps

I went into

the shadows Looking for my sun

Carrying all my questions And nowhere left to run

I asked the night to name me

I asked the wind to speak But somewhere in the silence I

heard the truth in me

Every time I thought I’d lost my way

I moved a little closer

Every time the world went dark

Something woke inside me I

went into the shadows Looking for my sun

But somewhere in the searching

I found the answers one by one

Deep inside my soul Where I was afraid to see

I found the light I’d searched for

I found me

I wore a thousand faces

Trying not to

lose Everyone around me Till I nearly lost my truth

Then I faced the silence And heard my own heart say

You are not the one who’s missing You

just wandered far away

Maybe darkness comes

So we can see the light

Maybe getting lost Is how we find what’s right

I went into the shadows

Looking for my sun

And somewhere in the searching

I became the one

I was searching for the sunrise But the truth was underneath

I was searching for the sunlight And the sunlight lived in

me

I was searching for my sunlight But I was the sun

I was searching for myself But I was never gone
