A son left home to find his way
He spent his money day by day
A famine came, he lost it all
He had no food,
no place to call
Welcome home, the father cried
With open arms and love inside
He brought the feast,
the finest clothes
His love for his son
continued to grow
The older brother
became upset
He thought his father
should not forget
But his father said,
“You’re always here
But your brother’s back,
so let’s bring cheer!”
Welcome home, the father cried
With open arms and love inside
The lost was found,
the dead was alive
His father’s love
would always survive (yeah)
This story teaches us
to forgive
To love each other
as long as we live
No matter how far we may roam
God welcomes us
back
home
