Four women die
each day in this land,
Held by a love that cuts too deep.
Every ten minutes, somewhere in the world,
Lives are taken while the children watch...
traumatized.
She walked into the shelter,
tears in her eyes,
Said, "I never knew my mind was declining,
a decade of living in lies." Trauma bonding,
drugs, and alcohol she never touched before,
'Til high school graduation led her through the wrong crowd's door.
Lying to her mama,
trying to make it on her own,
Wishing she was dead,
feeling broken and alone.
But she looked up and said,
"I’m lucky just to be alive,
God is my witness—I'm winning,
I'm free, and I will thrive."
