Battle Cry Aotearoa
Listen up, New Zealand!
This isn't just another headline.
These are our homes.
Our jobs.
Our hospitals.
Our communities.
Our future.
You promised us a surplus,
You told us times would change,
But the target keeps on moving while the cost of living stays.
Families counting every dollar,
trying to make it through,
While Wellington keeps talking about what they're going to do.
Cuts, cuts, cuts
— that's what we hear,
Another promise disappearing year by year.
People are tired, people are mad,
Watching what they have get taken back.
NEW ZEALAND IS HURTING!
CAN'T YOU HEAR THE CRY?
FAMILIES ARE STRUGGLING, WHILE THE PROMISES PASS US BY!
LUXON! SEYMOUR! PETERS! THE PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW
— HOW MUCH MORE CAN KIWIS TAKE BEFORE WE SAY ENOUGH!
Thousands facing public-service cuts,
Communities feeling the strain,
Health and education under pressure,
while people ask again:
Who's going to help the families when the services disappear?
Who's going to stand beside them when nobody's there?
Te Aka Whai Ora was dismantled,
Treaty principles hit the floor,
Māori leaders raised their voices,
protests filled the streets once more.
Whatever side you're standing on,
the argument won't disappear — New Zealand needs honest answers when the
future isn't clear.
We're workers. We're parents.
We're students. We're old.
We're young. We're struggling.
We're hopeful. We're angry.
We don't want empty promises.
We don't want another excuse.
We want a country where people aren't left behind.
THIS IS OUR HOME!
THIS IS OUR FUTURE!
THIS IS NEW ZEALAND!
AND WE'RE NOT SILENT!
NEW ZEALAND IS HURTING!
BUT WE'RE STILL STANDING HERE!
Through the anger and the struggle,
through the doubt and through the fear!
Luxon!
Seymour! Peters! Hear the people tonight!
We're demanding accountability, we're demanding what's right!
Aotearoa!
Aotearoa!
Our home. Our future.
Our voice. NEW ZEALAND
IS
HURTING — AND WE WILL NOT
BE SILENT.
