October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
But I
say—I'm already aware. How about we
call it what it really needs to be?
Domestic Violence Prevention Month.
Prevention is easier
than cure.
Period. Because awareness without
action is just... watching.
We say "World Peace" quite a lot.
But think about it— World peace starts in me.
Not a law, not a sign,
not a policy
It's a choice I make when I wake up each day Every
word that I speak,
every step that I take

I've seen too much pain,
I've cried too many tears
I've lost my own blood,
faced my deepest fears But I'm still standing,
I'm still here
And I'm choosing peace—let me make it clear
I pledge to be nonviolent
Respect my body,
protect the Earth I am NVP

I treat it with care Clean air in my lungs,
good food that I share I put down the phone,
step into the sun This life is a treasure—my race has just

I'm walking in the sun to get vitamin D.
Learn something new—to be all I can be
This world is my body too—I must protect the ocean and the
shores The plastic, the cans—I won't litter no more.
I will live simple and clean Reduce and recycle,
save every drop. Keep waterways clean so the beauty won't stop Manage
my time and my money with care.
True nonviolence is where we start But a rule can't change a
human part... True nonviolence must start in the heart...
Mamas and Papas, hear this plea...
Don't lose your child to the streets...
are you dealing with sadness and hopelessness about your sons or daughters
lost to death?
I lost my grandson,
Adam, too... let’s turn our grieve into saving a life.
let's change the world,
starting with you...and me.
Let us stop the blame...
Break the cycle, change the game...
we must.
