Frankie & The Starlights - I’ll See You Next Christmas

The coats are by the doorway

The last car’s warming up

There’s wrapping on the sofa

And an empty coffee cup

The tree is still shining

But the room feels different now

Nobody wants to say goodnight So we’re saying it somehow

I’ll see you next Christmas

When the lights come back around I’ll see you next Christmas

When the old songs fill the town Maybe we’ll be a little

older

Maybe some things will have changed

But I’ll see you next Christmas

And we’ll laugh the same

There’s one more piece of pie here

And somebody takes it home

There’s laughter in the hallway

As everybody says they have to go

We promise we’ll get together

We promise we’ll call somehow

But everybody knows that Christmas Makes promises feel easier right now

So take a little Christmas with you

Take a song and take a smile

Take the memory of this evening

And keep it for a while And if the year gets busy

And the days go running by

Just remember there’s a room somewhere Where we were laughing tonight (We

were

laughing tonight) And that’s enough to carry on.

I’ll see you next Christmas

When the lights come back around I’ll see you next Christmas

When the old songs fill the town

We’ll bring another story

We’ll have another night

We’ll hang the same old ornaments And turn the porch light bright

I’ll see you next Christmas

Don’t let the moment go

Take care of one another

Wherever you may go

And when December finds us

We’ll know just what to do— (We’ll leave the light on…) I’ll

see you next Christmas.

(Next Christmas…)

I’ll see you next Christmas.

(We’ll see you next Christmas…)

Goodnight, everybody. (Goodnight…)
