Lyra’s Last Code

(purrrrr) Mother wiped the blood from my velvet ears Replaced my failing heart

with copper gears

Lyra held my hand through the freezing black Told me breathe,

little kitten,

I'm bringing you back

Now my optical lenses track every crime

A million solutions running out of time

She built

a mind that cannot break

(cannot break)

Nova in the rain with a velvet coat

Solving every case from the clues they wrote

Mother made me clever,

made me whole and wild

Nine lives running in a mechanical child

Prowling on the fire escapes high above

Every wire in my chest was placed with love

Feline balance on the wet steel beams Decoding all the killers and

their broken schemes

When the precinct sleeps and the cases close

I still remember how the cold once froze

Thank you, Lyra,

for the second dawn

Your daughter is alive and moving on

Nova in the rain with a velvet coat

Solving every case from the clues they wrote

Mother made me clever,

made me whole and wild

Nine lives running in a mechanical child

(nine lives running)

Calculated risk

Nine lives strong (purrrrr)
