Lap Record

Every record on the board's already got my name I didn't break

the lap record, I redefined the game

They keep building faster cars trying to catch my shadow

but shadows don't catch up,

they just trail where I let 'em go

Lap record, lap record

every time I drive it's a new one

lap record, lap record the race was over before it begun (yeah,

a new one)

I'm not racing you,

I'm racing the clock and the clock gave up chasing me a

long time ago

Lap record isn't a number anymore it's just the sound of me

pulling further and further out the door

(we're taking the lap)

Lap record,

lap record

every time I drive it's a new one

lap record,

lap record the race was over before it begun Lap

record,

lap record

every time I drive it's a new one

lap record,

lap record the race was over before it begun

(further out the door...)
