Fading Light Dreams

I watched the moon through my bedroom window,

Counting every star that I used to know.

The night feels quiet,

but my mind won’t sleep,

There’s a thousand memories I’m trying to keep.

Your voice still echoes down the hallway,

Even though you left a long time ago.

I keep pretending that I’m okay,

But some feelings never really go.

And I don’t know

where we

went wrong,

Maybe we

were never meant to last this long.

So I’ll dream of you

tonight,

Underneath the fading light.

Even if you’re far away,

I’ll meet you in my dreams again.

And when the morning comes,

I’ll wake up missing what we were.

Maybe someday it won’t hurt,

But tonight…

I still remember.

Rain keeps falling on the window,

Like the sky knows how I feel.

Every little sound reminds me

That some things never heal.

I wish I could go back for one night,

Just to hear you laugh again.

But time keeps moving like a river,

And I can’t make it turn around.

If you ever look up at the stars,

I hope you see the same ones I do.
