Castles and Reasons

There was a man who lived in comfort his whole life He

never felt lonely, strain,

or strife Had a place to lay his head down every night

And he never asked God why

Had shiny cars and miles and miles of land

Everything ever wanted by a man

Found every treasure that he seek to find

And he never asked God why

He just built his castle tall

And he built his fences wide

Some say he had it all

And he never asked God why

There was a man who lived in hunger,

fear, and pain But he wasn't one to waste time to complain

No, he didn't have a perfect life

And he never asked God why

He found a mighty castle tall and wide

He only wished to rest there for a night

He walked up to the gate and when he tried

He couldn't get inside

And he asked the man why

He said, "I built my castle tall

And I built my fences wide

My friend, you're just too small

To ever get inside

Don't you see that's why?"

There was a man who lived in comfort his whole life

But he lost it all

on the day he died

He got to heaven's gate and when he tried He couldn't get

inside

And he asked God why

"You built your castle tall

And you built your fences wide

Some say you had it all

And you never asked me why

And one day

when I tried

You wouldn't let me inside"

No, you never asked God why

Now you ask me

why
