(mmmmm-mmm) Today it was Lilja’s turn to leave our little home.
Her brothers had already gone,
and now she would go too.
I sent the message out,
and many people came.
But somewhere deep inside me one answer felt the same.
Not the loudest. Not the first.
Just a quiet little knowing:
Maybe these are Lilja’s people.
Maybe this is where she’s going.
Lilja went home, Lilja went home,
with two loving hearts and a carrier of her own.
Lilja went home, but not away.
She still lives inside my heart in her own small way.
Four little Heroes, four different roads.
And today our Fairy of Nature went home.
The night before they came,
I saw something in the Light.
They would come prepared for Lilja.
Everything would feel just right.
I even made the payment note
ready on my phone.
A little practical magic
for sending kittens home.
But I was not completely sure.
There was noise inside the day.
So I thought,
“We will see what is true when they arrive this way.”
They came to meet her first,
or that was what they said.
But after just a little while the truth showed up instead.
“We already decided. She is the one for us.”
And Lilja sat upon my lap,
quiet without fuss.
I told them of her birth,
and stories from her days.
Myrsky, Tuisku, Routa, and all their kitten ways.
Lilja went home, Lilja went home,
with two loving hearts and a carrier of her own.
Lilja went home, but not away.
She still lives inside my heart in her own small way.
Four little Heroes, four different roads.
And today our Fairy of Nature went home.
Then Lilja left my lap
and climbed upon a chair.
A little closer to her people,
as if she knew them there.
She lifted up her head and gave them one long look.
No papers needed. No grand speech.
Lilja had read the book.
She chose them. That was enough.
Sometimes cats make things quite clear.
Humans may need many words.
A kitten needs one stare.
I promised them her song,
and the story from her book.
The 4 Heroes of the Fable Woods Valley,
and every path they took.
They promised little pictures,
little messages from home.
So the story does not finish just because the kittens roam.
They taught me while they stayed here.
They taught Usva too.
Lila and Jättis watched them grow,
and Luna misses them,
I know.
Usva came inside today.
She knew her last one had gone.
A mother gives her kittens room to find where they belong.
And I do too.
Lilja went home,
Lilja went home. Our little Fairy of Nature found the place she
can belong.
Lilja went home, with love on every side.
And though the house is quiet now,
the kittens live inside.
Four little Heroes, four different roads.
Myrsky, Tuisku, Routa, Lilja,
all found loving homes.
So goodbye,
little Lilja.
Go explore. Go climb.
Go play.
Teach your people
all the things
only kittens know to say.
I will miss you.
I will smile too.
And now the horses need their hay.
Lilja went home.
And life
went on its way.
