David Cole - The Greatest Morning of the Year

Morning comes through the curtains There’s a shimmer on the floor

Little feet are racing down the hallway Like they’ve never run before

Coffee’s on, the kitchen’s warm The whole house starts to sing

Every room is overflowing With the sound of everything

We waited for this morning

We counted every day

And now it’s finally here And nothing stands in its way

The greatest morning of the year

Is finally here

Look at all the faces We waited to see

The greatest morning of the year

Has brought everybody near And all the Christmas we remember

Is right here with me

There’s ribbon on the staircase

There’s paper by the tree

Somebody’s wearing Christmas pajamas That don’t fit past the knee

There’s laughter in the kitchen

There’s music down the hall

Somebody yells, “Come look at this!” And everybody comes running when they

call

There’s nowhere else to be

now

Nothing left to prove

We’ve got the whole day waiting And everybody’s in the room

The greatest morning of the year

Is finally here

Look at all the faces

We waited to see

The greatest morning of the year Has brought everybody near And all

the Christmas we remember

Is right here with me

Maybe someday we’ll look back

At the pictures from today

At the crooked little tree

And the toys that got away

We’ll remember all the laughter

And the mess we made at noon

And wish we could come running

Back into this room

Right now the house is living

Right now the bells are ringing

Right now every heart we love Is right here singing

Choir: (Everybody’s here!) David Cole: (Everybody’s here!) Choir:

(Then let the whole world hear!)

The greatest morning of the year!

Is finally here! Choir: (Finally here!) Look at all the faces

We waited to see!

Choir: (Everybody!) The greatest morning of the year

Has brought everybody near!

All: And all the Christmas we remember

Is right here with me!

This is the morning!

This is the day!

Everybody we love Has found their way!

Open every curtain! Let the whole house shine!

We’ve got the people that we love And we’ve got all the

time!

All:

The greatest morning of the year!

The greatest morning of the year!

Everybody’s here! Everybody’s

here!
