Yeah, it's late again,
Same room, same thoughts.
Funny how the silence gets loud When
everybody's gone.
Late-night thoughts, got me staring at the ceiling,
Tryna put a name on this complicated feeling.
Everybody asks if I'm good,
I say I'm healing,
But they never see the side of me I keep concealing.
I've been running from the past,
but it follows where I go,
Got a hundred things to say that I'll probably never show.
And I'm learning that the truth isn't always what you know,
Sometimes you gotta lose your way to find the road.
(yeah, find the road)
Phone lights up,
but I let it fade,
Too many conversations that I wish I never made.
Got a lot on my mind,
got a lot I never say,
Everybody sees the smile,
never asks about the day.
I remember all the plans that we made back then,
Said we'd never change,
now we barely speak again.
Funny how forever only lasts until it ends,
Now I'm trying to find the peace I thought I'd find in
them.
I don't hate the past,
I just wish it went different,
Some people leave a mark,
even when they're inconsistent.
I was looking for answers,
never stopped to listen,
Now I'm learning that the distance gives you a different vision.
Maybe growing up means accepting what you can't change,
Maybe every goodbye leaves a lesson in its place.
I don't need to get even,
I don't need to keep score,
I'm just trying to become who I was working toward.
It's late again,
But the sun comes soon.
Maybe I'll find some answers
When I leave this room.
