There’s no

one out this far ahead

No headlights coming close

The road just stretches out instead Like something I can hold

I used to fill the quiet up

Every mile feels more like new I don’t need to name it

The sky

But not enough to see

Just shapes of things on either side That don’t belong to me

I thought I’d miss the noise I had

The pull of something known

But there’s a comfort in the fact

This space is mine alone
