Skunked Playtime
(aroo!) Snowy paws bounding in the yard
Chasing striped tails, running fast and hard Two little friends under the
autumn oak tree
They don't look like any dog I ever did see
He's leaning down, tail wagging wide
They raise their flags,
nowhere to hide
Get ready now, watch out!
Oh no, don't get too close!
(ahhh!) He's playing with the little skunks Bounding around in joyful jumps
One spray, and the garden is done But he thinks it's all
in good fun!
He does a bow,
they do a dance
But they are warning him,
taking a stance
His thick white fur is smelling quite unique
Tomato juice bath coming up this week (oh boy!)
Sniffing the grass,
nose to the ground
He is the happiest pup to be found
Even if he gets a smelly surprise
Look at the mischief in his blue eyes
Oh no,
don't get too close!
