Three women die every single day in the United States.
Killed by a husband.
A boyfriend.
A partner.
Three women.
Every day.
That's over a thousand mothers,
daughters, sisters, and friends every single year.
Women who were told,
"I love you."
Women who were told,
"It won't happen again."
Women who were told,
"You'll never make it without me."
But this...
this is not their song.
This is the song for the ones who are still here.
This is the song for the ones who are still fighting.
This is the song for the ones who are still hiding in
the bathroom,
holding the door, praying for a way out.
You are not a statistic.
You are not a headline.
You are a mother.
A warrior.
A survivor.
And there is a way out.
Yeah...
alarm clock rings at 5 AM,
you're on the road,
Car full of supplies,
carrying a heavy load.
You walk into the shelter,
and the room is so cold,
But you bring a warmth that's worth more than gold.
Massage therapists rubbing out the knots of pain,
Nail techs painting colors in the pouring rain.
Skincare experts wiping away the tears,
Restoring the beauty that was hidden for years.
You don't ask for a paycheck,
you don't ask for the fame,
You just walk in the room and you light up the flame.
You see the bruises that the makeup can't hide,
You say, "Come here,
sister, let me restore your pride."
And they say, "Who shows up just to give?"
We say, "Look at the love that we live!" Peace isn't perfect,
peace is a choice,
And every single survivor deserves a voice! (ooh)
Look at me now!
I'm standing tall! I'm not the woman who was hiding in the
hall! Look at me now!
I'm proud and free!
This headshot is my victory!
I am NVP, I am the light!
I am the woman who survived the night!
Take my hand, don't be afraid,
We are the thread,
we are the braid! (hey)
Now fast forward the clock,
see the seed that was planted,
A woman named Jessica,
no longer taken for granted.
She got a home,
got a man, got a son,
She broke the cycle,
yeah, her battle was won.
But some didn't make it,
some are still in the dark,
Some are still sleeping in a cold,
lonely park. That's why we need a haven,
a place they can go,
A shelter from the storm,
a chance to grow.
BFF America, we're raising the bar,
We're the light in the night,
we're the northern star.
We're the thread that connects every mother and child,
We're the peace in the chaos,
the tame in the wild.
And they say, "Who shows up just to give?"
We say, "Look at the love that we live!" Peace isn't perfect,
peace is a choice,
And every single survivor deserves a voice! (ooh)

To the woman who hasn't smiled in years,
To the mother who swallowed all her tears,
To the daughter who was told she was nothing,
To the survivor who is tired of running...
Sit down in this chair.
Let us wash your hair.
Let us paint your face.
Let us remind you that you belong in every single place.
And when the tears start to fall,
and they always do,
I look at her,
and I say, *"Girl,
don't ruin that makeup "* (ahhhh)
