  • From Grass to Grace

    From Grass to Grace

    Rich living

    Yeah…

    Rich Living

    Chale…

The ghetto taught me lessons school never teach.

    You learn from the struggle,

    You learn from the people,

You learn from your own mistakes.

    Listen…

    Wisdom of the ghetto,

    I carry in my soul,

Life was getting harder but it made me strong.

Ɛyɛ den, but I still move on,

Medaase, God, for keeping me this long.

    Wisdom of the ghetto,

    every scar got a story,

    Started with the struggle,

    now I’m chasing glory.

    No matter where I go,

    I remember where I’m from,

    Agona Swedru to Cape Coast,

    Ghana to the

    world, we come.

I grew up watching people hustle every

    day,

Some had big dreams but they lost their way.

    Mama said, “My son,

    choose your friends with care,

Not everybody smiling really wants you there.”

I learned that money can’t buy respect,

And quick decisions bring long regrets.

I learned to keep my word when nobody sees,

And plant my seeds before I ask for trees.

    Chale, the road was rough,

but I learned how to walk,

When nobody listened, I learned how to talk.

    When the door closed,

    I searched for another,

    When I had no strength,

    I remembered my mother.

Ghetto wisdom say, “Don’t envy another man,”

    You don’t know his journey,

    you don’t know his plan.

    Focus on your lane,

    build your own name,

Everybody’s timing in this life ain’t the same.

    I saw fake love, I

    saw real ones stay,

    I saw people disappear

    when the money went away.

So I keep my circle small and my vision wide,

Faith in my heart and my family by my side.

    Medaase for the lessons,

    even pain had a meaning,

Every setback gave me another reason.

    I don’t glorify the struggle,

    I respect what it taught,

Now I’m turning every lesson into something I built.

Ghetto raised me, but it won’t define me,

Hard times came, but they won’t confine me.

From the dust, I learned how to dream,

Rich Living — you know what I mean.

    No hate in my heart,

    no fear in my eyes,

I learned to stand tall underneath these skies.

    If I make it out,

    I’m taking wisdom with me,

And I’ll build for the ones who were standing with me.

    To the young ones watching,

    listen to the elders,

Knowledge is gold, so protect your future.

Don’t let pressure make you forget your dream,

Small small steps can build something big.

    Chale, life isn’t easy,

    I know that for sure,

But patience and hard work can open a door.

Keep your head up when the night gets cold,

Your story ain’t finished till the final page is told.

From Agona Swedru, I carry my roots,

    Cape Coast in my heart,

    now I’m chasing my truth.

    Ghana to the world,

    let the whole place know,

    We came from the struggle,

    now watch us grow.

    Wisdom of the ghetto,

    I carry in my soul,

Life was getting harder but it made me

    strong.

Ɛyɛ den, but I still move on,

Medaase, God, for keeping me this long.

    Wisdom of the ghetto,

    every scar got a story,

    Started with the struggle,

    now I’m chasing glory.

    From grass to grace,

that’s the road that I know,

Rich Living — Ghana to the world,

    let’s go!

Chale… The ghetto gave me lessons.

    Life gave me experience.

    God gave me another day.

Now I turn the wisdom into music.

    Rich Living

    Wisdom of the Ghetto.

    From struggle…

    to purpose.

    From grass…

    to grace.
