Since You are rock and high-walled stone,
For Your Great Name lead me aright;
Free me from traps laid out
alone,
And be my shelter in the night.
Into Your Hands my spirit goes,
O faithful God who set me free;
I turn my back on hollow foes,
And place my trust,
O Lord, in Thee.
In You, O Lord,
I cast my plea,
Let shame consume me not today; Turn down Your Ear and rescue
me,
Be Rock and Fortress on my way.
With joy I sing Your Love so deep,
You saw the grief that weighed me down; You kept me safe
from ruin’s steep,
And gave my feet a spacious ground.
Be merciful,
I cry in pain,
My eyes grow dim,
my body wanes;
My strength dissolves like falling rain,
And deep distress
wears down my frame.
By every neighbor cast aside,
A dread to friends who turn and flee;
Like broken clay tucked out of sight,
They pass and all forget me…
In te, Domine, speravi,
Non confundar in aeternum;
Inclina aurem tuam mihi,
Esto mihi in rupem et asylum.
Exsultabo
in misericordia tua,
Quoniam respexisti humilitatem meam; Salvasti de necessitatibus animam meam,
Et statuisti in loco spatioso pedes meos.
