    Found With Brothers

    Adrian Maxwell

(hummmmm) I forgot what it felt like to laugh that hard,

To show up somewhere and just drop my guard.

    Somewhere along the way,

    I lost who I was,

    Got stuck in my head,

    forgot how to trust.

Then I found these boys who let me be me,

No questions asked, just somewhere to breathe.

    Hanging out, doing stupid stuff,

Laughing so hard that we can’t catch our breath.

Running around like we ain’t got a care,

Making memories that we’ll take everywhere.

Late-night talks and nowhere to be,

Just being together was enough for me.

You brought me back to myself,

Back to the person I used to be.

    I forgot how to smile,

    forgot how to laugh,

Forgot there was still a better side of me.

    You became my brothers,

    Somehow you became my home.

And for the first time in a long time,

I don’t feel like I’m on my own.

I spent so long trying to find my way,

Now I finally know where I belong.

You brought me back to myself,

And reminded me I was never

    gone.

    Then there’s Hot Corner,

    where nothing makes sense,

Just stupid conversations and jokes with no end.

Laughing at nothing, staying up way too late,

Making the kind of memories you can’t recreate.

It might look crazy from the outside looking in,

But those are the moments where I found myself again. (hahaha)

It isn’t about the wins or the things that we do,

It’s sitting around just being with you.

The inside jokes nobody else understands,

The random plans that never go as planned.

Somewhere between the chaos and the laughs,

I realized I finally found my people at last.

You never had to fix me,

You never had to change a thing.

You just gave me a place to be myself,

And reminded me how good life can feel.

    I walked in carrying

    everything I’d been through,

And somehow it got lighter standing next to you.

You brought me back to myself,

Back to the person I used to be.

The one who could laugh without overthinking,

The one who could finally just be free.

    You became my brothers,

    And this became my home.

    Now even when I’m struggling,

I know I don’t have to face it alone.

I thought I’d lost that part of me,

But you showed me it was still there.

Sometimes you don’t find yourself alone— Sometimes you find yourself with people

    who care.

So here’s to the stupid stuff,

    The laughs and the memories,

The nights that meant nothing But somehow meant everything to me.

I came looking for somewhere to fit in,

But I found something more— I found my brothers,

    And I found myself again.
